It requires no external heat, as it is all self-contained and sits right on the grate of your grill and works just like a top end smoker. This is a substantial upgrade to Smoker tubes and chip boxes; which both require external heat. Smoker tubes apply a hint of smoke flavor from BBQ Pellets. Our SmokerCookers will infuse the meat with flavor from all-natural wood chunks. Chip boxes require you to soak your chips in order to smoke otherwise the chips burn quickly and cause flareups! Here at DiamondKing we cure our wood properly; there is no reason to soak our wood. Keep in mind you get much more flavor from Chunks than Chips.
I love my Diamond King Smoker box so much that I take it with me in a bag when I fly. It’s one of the best products I’ve tested in 2017 and its a simple idea done right. There’s enough capacity to be the sole heat source to cook an entire meal. I got up to 4 hours burn on one wood load with the proper wood choice. It’s super easy to start your fire using the included FireStarters. The smoke flavor is great and the bonus is that you can char your meat on top of the box (I don’t think Patrick intended for it to work that way but that’s my secret trick). I think he should nickname it “Happiness in a Box” and I know I’m going to enjoy using it. Well done.
